Hi everyone! Today I'm going to talk about some changes I would make in my study program.
Well, I'm currently studying cinema and television and although this is a very versatile career, where there is a great variety of subjects. I think there are some subjects that are essential and that the curriculum doesn't offer as direction of actors, I mean, no one prepares you completely to be able to direct and ask them to interpret what you want and is in your head to the actresses and actors. I know that it's not a mathematical formula that can be applied and that always works, but I do think it's necessary to be able to be close to some tools that can facilitate this type of work because finally these are people who are part of our team and the stories we want to tell.
Another decision that I personally don't agree with is that general production is a subject that is taught in the third year of the career and I think it would be much more useful if it was taught much earlier in order to have knowledge because finally for short film projects the production is done as you think it should be done, but you don´t know concretely if you are doing it right or wrong.
As for the technology and tools provided by the university, I think it's deficient to a certain extent because there is equipment that is in poor condition and doesn't work completely, such as some sound equipment, which becomes a big problem on a shoot.
I hope that some of these things can change at some point and that there will be fewer complications for future generations of cinema students.
Thanks for your time, bye!
